ERM has significant expertise on CO2 capture and storage (CCS), based around policy and regulatory developments and emissions trading for CCS, including:national and international policy and permitting frameworks applicable to CCS; CCS under emissions trading scheme (EU ETS and Kyoto ‘flexible mechanisms’). ERM staff acted as expert reviewers on the IPCC SRCCS, and have presented on CCS to various audiences including: CCP; MIT; IPIECA; DEFRA/OSPAR; DTI; European Union, IFP, Royal Academy of Engineering. Recent projects include: Development of M&R guidelines for CCS in the EU ETS, 2005-06.; Evaluation of CCS as CDM projects, 2005-06; Permitting issues for CO2 capture and storage, 2005. Inventory and review of government and institutional policies and incentives contributing to CO2 capture and geological storage, 2002-05.
