BCA is the trade, technical and research organisation that represents the interests of the UK’s cement industry in its relations with Government, the European Union and other relevant organisations. It has an establishment of technical and support staff, including leading authorities on environment, legislation, materials, standards and engineering. The BCA has four members - Buxton Lime Industries, Castle Cement, CEMEX UK and Lafarge Cement UK. Between them they manufacture around 12 million tonnes of cement each year, which represents 90 per cent of the cement sold in the UK. The industry has an annual turnover of £775 million.
